Beta and design-partner terms

What you can and cannot rely on.

Permistry is an open beta. It is free, it is unfinished, and this page says plainly what that means, so that nothing later comes as a surprise.

Last updated 6 September 2026

1. The beta is free and provided as it is

You may use the workbench at app.permistry.com for your own work and for configuring your clients' tenants, at no charge, for as long as the beta runs.

There is no availability commitment and no support commitment. The service may be unavailable, may change without notice, and may contain defects. Do not build a process around it that has no fallback.

2. Capabilities may change or be withdrawn

Permistry is being built towards paid Pro and Firm editions. Capabilities present in the beta may be changed, moved behind a paid edition, or removed.

Compare is a preview of Pro. The ability to compare two separate template exports is shown during the beta as a demonstration of what the paid edition will do. It is not part of the free product, and it will move to Pro when Pro launches. We are telling you now, before you build a habit around it.

Using the beta creates no entitlement to any capability. Nothing here grants a permanent, grandfathered or free right to a feature you used during the beta.

What will not move behind a paywall: the controls that let you verify what the tool is about to do to the file in front of you. The pending-change source diff, measured change sets, validation, unintended-change detection, undo, and refusal to edit a file the tool cannot reproduce faithfully are safety features, not premium ones.

3. Your files stay yours

Permistry does not upload your templates and holds no copy of them. Everything you produce with it, whether exported XML, role-profile JSON or reports, is written by your own browser, at your direction, to your own machine, and belongs to you.

Because there is no server-side copy, there is nothing we could withhold from you if the beta ended tomorrow. Files you have already saved stay saved.

You are responsible for being authorised to process the configuration you open, including a client's.

4. It does not replace your Provisioning process

Permistry supports the work around Provisioning. It does not connect to your tenant, and it does not replace the validation and import steps your authorised process requires. Review what it produces before you import it. The final check is yours.

5. Independence from SAP

Permistry is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SAP SE, and it grants you no SAP licence or entitlement of any kind. SAP® and SAP SuccessFactors® are trademarks or registered trademarks of SAP SE or its affiliates in Germany and other countries.

6. No warranty

The beta is provided without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it is error-free, that its findings are complete, or that it fits a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Liability is capped at what you have paid us, which during the beta is nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or the cost of re-doing configuration work. That is the trade being made openly: the tool is free, and it is on you to review what it produces before it reaches a client's tenant, which is why every verification control stays free, and why section 4 exists.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of Michigan have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you rights that cannot be contracted away, those rights are unaffected.

7. The design-partner programme

If you join the design-partner programme, these additional terms apply.

  • Confidentiality runs both ways. You will be discussing client configuration. We will not repeat what you tell us about a named client, will not quote you or your firm publicly without asking first, and will not use your client's configuration as an example. In return, please keep unreleased capabilities we show you to yourself until they are public.
  • We never ask you to send a template. If a conversation needs an example, we will build a synthetic one. Please do not send us client exports.
  • Feedback. If you suggest an improvement, we need to be able to build it without a later ownership question, so you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use your feedback in the product. This covers ideas and suggestions only. It does not touch your own materials, your files, or anything belonging to your client.
  • Leaving. You can leave at any time, for any reason, by saying so. See the privacy notice for what happens to your details.
  • It is unpaid, on both sides. There is no fee to participate and no payment for participating.

8. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes, and anyone on the design-partner list is emailed. Continuing to use the beta after that means the new version applies.
